Geneva Chinese New Year Concert for the Year of the Horse

February 6, 2026Geneva Chinese ChoirTaking the stage at the 2026 “Happy Chinese New Year” Year of the Horse Spring Festival Concert, they will deliver a spectacular performance to the local audience. The concert will be held at the Salle Frank-Martin music hall in Geneva's Old Town and will ignite a wave of celebrations for the Chinese Lunar Year of the Horse among all sectors of Swiss society.

The concert was jointly conducted by Swiss-based musician Zhao Yuan and Jean-Christophe Monnier, the principal conductor of the Geneva Wind Orchestra, attracting an audience of around 400 people from various sectors in Switzerland. As one of the key events in Switzerland for the “Happy Chinese New Year” series of activities in 2026, the concert was co-hosted by the China Cultural Center in Bern, the Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the Sino-Swiss Chamber of Commerce, Tiantan Swiss Group, and the Chinese Students and Scholars Association in Geneva, with the support of the Chinese Embassy in Switzerland. The event was organized by the Sino-Swiss Cultural and Artistic Exchange Association.

On the night of the performance, the Geneva Chinese Choir joined forces with the Geneva State Wind Orchestra on stage, passionately presenting many Chinese and foreign classic works such as "Toreador Song," "Le Vieux Chalet," "Edelweiss," "Same Song," and "Under the Bright Sunshine." The moving melodies lingered long in the concert hall, with sincere and full emotional expression, deeply resonating with the audience, who responded with unceasing applause.
